Gian Paolo Rossi is Full Professor of Computer Networks at the Dipartimento di Informatica (DI), Università di Milano, Italy, where he has been leading the Computer Networks Laboratory (NPTLab) since 1985. He spent 2 postdoc years at the Joint Research Center of the EC in Ispra, where he partecipated to the development and the deployment of the first european packet switched network (EIN). He joined the University of Milano in 1980 as an Assistant Professor. Gian Paolo Rossi coauthored more than 100 papers in the area of computer networks. His current research interests include: protocols for Mobile ad hoc Networks, Internet of People and Opportunistic/Delay Tolerant Networks, Mobile Edge Computing and Network Virtualization. Research projects: He coordinated and coordinates various research project, funded by both the Italian government (e.g. MIUR CARTOON) and European Community (e.g. INOVA). Non academic activities: In 1985 he co-founded Syrea, an engineering company of real time and mission critical systems for avionics, space and automotive. In 1990 he co-founded Teach, an italian leading technology transfer company.
